So, backstory:

Started Judo in 1975 [aged 10].

Received Shodan [1st degree black belt] in 1982.

Was member of UCT intervarsity Judo squad for 2 years in early 1980's [and lost fights consistently, but with great dignity...!].

Still refereeing annually at the Shindokan Judo Tournament at the DSK in Tamboerskloof.

Would like to get active on the mat again, but is reluctant to break a hip [current age in 2016: 52 years and counting...].
